Kula kamaliʻi ~ Kindergarten

Hiii!

Today went by really fast!

I woke up at 6:30, blah, blah blah. Normal routine.

I had my Biology Lecture at 8:30, and then my Bio Lab at 9:30. Today's lab was literally the most pointless thing ever! We had to taste little pieces of paper, some were bitter and some were sweet, and it was weird. Then we had to pick two cards out of a box that had different alleles on them; some were big T's and others were little t's, and then we had to "breed" with the other people in our class and see what the possible outcomes our offspring would be. Not too hard, right?

I guess not, because when our TA asked us to raise our hands for each of the 10 different trials to get the class data, and even though we are college kids now, for some reason, each time some would would either forget to raise their hand or then would raise it twice or for the wrong one. We literally did this part 4 TIMES because this kept happening and we were not getting the same numbers for each trial -_- Like, are we back in Kindergarten now?

On the plus side, my group and I didn't have any problems this time. They all talked to me in a friendly manner, and a couple of jokes were even cracked! Woo :)

After my lab, I had a little less than an hour until my next lecture so I just sat outside and relaxed while waiting. I also called my mom :)

During my Oceanography lecture we talked about Tsunami's, and tides, it was really cool!

I then worked for only an hour today, from 1:30-2:30 and I just did multiple small/easy jobs like copying papers, mail runs, and inventory.

I had practice tonight and it was really hot out again. :(
About halfway through practice I wasn't feeling too great, a bit nauseous, but it went away after about an hour. We also had sectionals again, until 6:00, after the full band marching practice, where we just reviewed our music and learned some new visuals for the show.

I came back to my room, lied down for about a half hour with a cold washcloth on my face, and then I went and got some dinner at 6:45.

I didn't have any homework tonight, so I looked over the music for my concert band audition coming up this Saturday and studied a little for the three midterms I have next week.

And that was my day!
Thanks for reading :)
Talk to you tomorrow,
Goooodniiiiggghtt! <3

Ahi ~ Fire

Don't worry, there wasn't a fire! :)

Today wasn't great, but it also wasn't bad by any means. It was just an average Tuesday in the life of Kylie (which is never too exciting...)

I woke up, got ready and headed off to my Chemistry Lab with Amber, which was pretty cool today! Probably the most interesting lab we've had yet.

We finally got to work with fire, and (possible) explosive chemicals. Although it was very time-consuming, and my partner and I didn't even finish, it was fun! Much better than these baby labs we've been doing all semester...

After, Amber and I went to our Chemistry Lecture, which I'm just not going to say anything about anymore. We literally have the notes, that we have online access to, read to us word for word. How exciting!... -_-

We went and got some lunch after class, I got a smoothie and sandwich from Jamba Juice, and then went back to our room.

I've given up on Revolution because it is just an awful show, and I watched an episode of Terra Nova...hopefully it is better!

At 3:00, I had Hawaiian Studies which was pretty interesting today. We talked about Hawaiian Art, and it reminded me of my sister, so after class I called her and we had a short, but nice conversation.

I worked from 4:30-6:00 and all I did was make sure some papers were completely filled out and then check student grades online. In the afternoons/end of day it is really slow in the office and not much is happening.

As I was walking to work, this beauty popped out of no where,

...and made my day :)

After work, I was done, so I just went back to my dorm for the night.

I finished my peer-reviewing for our Bio Lab Write-Ups, and the paper I was grading was pretty poorly written.

I also did the question due for Bio Lab tomorrow, and that was it!

I'm off now, to hopefully get a good night's sleep, because last night I woke up like 3 times...
So I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Byee! <3

Alo Pākaukau ~ Front Desk

Wow. So even though I took that 4 1/2 hour nap yesterday, I still managed to sleep from 11:00pm until 6:30 this morning! I was so relieved and rested when my alarm went off, because I really needed that sleep.

So as I said, I woke up at 6:30, stayed in bed until 7:00, then got showered and ready for the day, and left for class at 8:00.

Bio was okay today, we are still talking about DNA/RNA and genes.

From 9:30-12:00, I worked! Today was kind of stressful because my supervisor was gone from 9:45 until 11:00, so I was in charge of the front desk. Everything went smoothly, except for the phone situation. The phone rang quite a few times, but I have not been trained on the greeting when I answer, hoe to answer the millions of questions the caller might have, who to direct them to, how to transfer to another office, all of that jazz, so I simply didn't answer the phone. The head of the office came out and was like, "Kylie, hasn't Nichole trained you on the phones?" and I told her no, and she kind of seemed worried maybe. I couldn't really read her emotion, but she was like "Ooookkkayyy, well that needs to happen soon." I felt bad, but I haven't been trained, so there wasn't anything that I could have done differently.

So while working, I took charge of the front desk and helped everyone who came in and people who had appointments. I also made copies of papers when it was less busy.

Then I had Oceanography from 12:20-1:30 and we talked about waves and how the surf/type of wave is determined based on the shore line, which I didn't know prior to that lecture.

I also worked again from 1:30-2:30 and I just went through this massive stack of papers and had to make sure that certain things were circled and other boxes were checked off.

After, I went and got/ate some lunch from Subway, because I hadn't eaten yet, and then went back to my room to change and get all of my stuff together, before heading off to practice at 3:25.

It was another reeeallly hot day out today, but practice wan't too bad. Although it was hot out, practice seemed to fly by! That's always a plus :) We also had sectionals afterwards until 6:00.

I finally came back to my room and just layed on my bed for about 30 minutes before getting up and  started on my homework.

I got some dinner around 7:00, and then I just finished up my homework. I had Chemistry Lab homework which took like 3 hours! Boring.

And now I'm done! :)

Oh, I also have two more pictures from the Homecoming game that I'll show you...

This is the whole section

And this is me, Christine (section leader; as the minion), Marisa and Mauri!

So I'm off now, to hopefully get another awesome night of sleep! *fingers crossed*

I'll talk to you tomorrow,
Goodnight <3

Hiamoe Iki ~ Nap

I slept TERRIBLE last night. Despite how tired I was and the fact that I got to sleep around 2:00am, I still ended up waking up around  7:00! What is up with that?!

I tried sleeping some more, but it wasn't happening.

This morning at 6:30, there was a group hike going on with my tower and I reeeeallly wanted to go, but I know that if I had tried it wouldn't have resulted well. The combination of my exhaustion with my sore limbs would have probably ended up in me giving up and plus, this is a really difficult hike, so I didn't even set my alarm to wake up. I'll try another time!

I think I dozed off a few times which was good but around 8:30 I got out of bed.

This week has been so draining that I decided that I was going to do absolutely NOTHING today. Like less than usual. I didn't even change into real clothes...

I watched two episodes of Revolution which I'm not sure if I like anymore. It seems weird and it is unnecessarily violent, in my opinion. So we will see if I continue with that show.

I then worked on my online homework for my lab class, and did some peer reviewing for my other lab.

I also worked on some paper work that I needed to complete which is giving me troubles and stressing me out, and I also talked to my parents.

Then I was feeling really tired, so around 3:00, I layed down to take a nap, and ended up sleeping until 7:45! It felt good to sleep and I felt rested after that.

I did get woken up once due to a crazy thunderstorm outside! It was thundering and lightning and absolutely POURING, which was odd because usually here we just get light/moderate rain showers. Not thunderstorms. Except for the occasional loud thunder claps, it was kind of peaceful and the rain helped me sleep.

So once I got up, I sat out on the lanai for a little bit to get some fresh air. Then I worked on some more homework like a Chemistry lab worksheet and reviewing for a quiz later this week.

And that's it.

It was good to have a day to just rest and not really do anything :)

OH! The halftime show was posted today, so here is the link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGDQYHazTM4

The songs we played, were:

Back to the Future theme
The Flinstones
The Jetsons
Feel this Moment
Rockit
Skit - Star Wars themes/Star Trek Theme/Superman
Time Warp

It was really fun, and although I had my doubts prior to the show, after listening to it, I don't think it sounded that bad!

It was cool to dress up and not wear our uniforms for one halftime performance and I did have a lot of fun :)

I still haven't gotten the pictures sent to me, but they'll be up for sure when I do get them. Hopefully tomorrow, fingers crossed.

And now, even though I took quite a long nap, I'm headed off to sleep because if this week is anything like last, I need to back up on some sleep now!

So I'll talk to you tomorrow,
Goodnight <3

ʻĀkala Lauoho ~ Pink Hair

I can barely keep my eyes open right now, so I am not going to go into much detail, but I'll talk more about the day in depth, tomorrow.

I got up and left for the game at 12:20, with my uniform, and costume all ready to go!

We left for the stadium at 1:00, and once we got there we practiced for about 2 and a half hours. I have not sweated this much since I've gotten to Hawaii, as I did today.

It was SOO hot out today, and we were all dying out there!

We then had to go do warrior walk, where we lead the football players in and played the fight song.

Pot-luck time! Finally, we got to eat!

I ventured out of my comfort zone quite a bit. I had orange chicken, meatballs/gravy, rice and a tamale, and all of it was really good! :)

During the pregame show, a ton of alumni came on the field with us and played along with us, which was really cool. There was even a graduate from the 50's!! I was worried about him being out in the heat...he was fine though.

Then we went into the stands and played for the first quarter and half of the second.

And then it was time to get into our costumes!! We got all dressed, and most of the people looked really good, but there were a lot that I couldn't figure out..oh well :)

I forgot to get a picture on my phone of the 4 of us dressed up, so I have to get them to send me the pictures, and once I get those, I'll post them up.

But here are a few with us, and the section...

This is most of the flute section in the stands...

This is Nathan, Michelle and I...

And here is Michelle, Kara, Nathan, Marissa, Raquel and I...

And the whole section, once more :)

So the halftime performance ended up being a lot of fun! I really enjoyed myself out there, and I think overall, it turned out great :) The video is not up yet, but I'll be sure to post it when it is, which should be by tomorrow!!

In the third and fourth quarters, I completely crashed. I literally felt like I was going to fall asleep standing up, in the stands.

I just couldn't wait for the game to be over!

Unfortunately, we lost...again! The final score was 35-28, so it wasn't too bad of a loss, but it was still a loss.

We all had tons of fun though, so that is all that matters. :)

I got back to my room around 11:40, and reeeeally wanted to just sleep, but I had to shower. For my costume, I sprayed my entire head of hair, bright pink, so I had to get that out, which took two washes!

And now, I'm here typing this post, at 1:04am :(
I'll post more pictures and videos, once they go up!
Talk to you all tomorrow!
Goodnight <3

Hoʻāuhuli ʻana ~ Revolution

Today was yet another long an exhausting day, but at least it is behind me!

I had to wake up earlier than normal, because I had an advising appointment at 8:00 this morning. We mainly talked about the courses I need to take next semester to stay on track for my major, and to graduate on time.

From 8:30-9:20 was my bio lecture, where we talked about DNA and nucleotides.

I then worked from 9:30-12:00 and I did a bunch of things! I copied papers, hole punched papers, filed papers, input data into a spreadsheet, and also had a job that took 2 hours. It involved hole punching files and inserting a double-pronged fastener to them, then putting labels onto those files, and then transferring all of the papers from the temporary files, to the ones that I was making, which are the permanent files. This literally took 2 hours, and I was getting antsy by the end of it.

At 12:00, I hadn't eaten, so I walked to Jamba Juice and got a smoothie and a toasted bistro sandwich, which I ate in my 12:30-1:20 lecture, Oceanography.

Today's lecture was all about waves and navigation.

From 1:30-2:30, I worked another hour, but it was much slower paced and I just looked over some data to make sure it was correct in the database.

I then had to go back to my dorm to change for practice, and decided to call and talk to my mom. She was at my high school's football game, with my dad and brother, to see how the band is this year, and she happened to be saying hi to a group of my friends. I got to talk to them all for a minute or two, which was nice, although I apologize for the way I sounded, I'm absolutely drained mentally and physically and it probably reflects in my voice and makes me sound uninterested or bored. I really miss them and everyone back home though :(

I was sooo tempted to crawl into bed and just sleep, but I knew that if I tried to nap, I would not have the willpower to actually get back out of bed and go to practice, especially since it was in half an hour. So I got all of my things ready for practice, listened to upbeat music, and then left for practice at 3:25.

We were facing the sun again, but it wasn't as bad because there were occasional clouds blocking it.

At practice, we just ran the show and the different parts about 5 times, and that was it.

I'm not sure if this show is going to be an awesome one. It sounds pretty good, but being on the field, it just seems very unorganized and kind of patchy. For some reason things don't feel like they fit together well. I guess we will find out tomorrow!

I am excited for the game tomorrow, because I mean, it is our homecoming game! I'm just a tad worried that we will lose the game.....

It will be fun though! I'm excited to see all of the costumes we show up in! :)

After practice, I got dinner and then came back to my room. I had to paint my crown for my costume, and I also put the whole thing on, and I think it looks good! Hopefully people will know what I am....(:

I also started watching the show Revolution, which is good so far! (I've only watched the pilot though, so.....we'll see how the rest of it is!)

And that's it!
I am actually about to fall asleep as I am typing this, and I need to get as much sleep as possible tonight since tomorrow will be another long and draining day! That seems to be the trend lately...

So I'll talk to you all tomorrow night!
Goodnight <3

Hana noʻeau Hoʻolauleʻa ~ Art Festival

Oh my goodness.

I'm exhausted!

I feel as though throughout the days, now that I've started worked, I am just going, going, going all day long, without a break. I'm worn out!

Anyway, I woke up a little late this morning, and ended up being about 10 minutes late to work, but it was no problem since I'm only a student worker. Plus, I made up that time later in the day.

So today at work, I made more student files, alphabetized a giant stack of papers, made 85 copies each of about 10 different flyers to go into info packets, and made copies of applications. Like I've said before, though, it passes time very quickly, and gives me something to do.

I then had my Chemistry exam at 12:00, and I felt like it went pretty well! There were three that I was completely stumped on at the end, so I had to make a guess on those.

Well, once Amber got home, she said that the grades had ALREADY been posted, which shocked me since in the past it has taken him over a week. So I went and looked, and I got another C. That is the third C that I've gotten on my Chemistry exams, and I don't know what is happening. A large part is that there are only 30 questions, so I got 21/30, but since each one is weighted so heavily, the grade drops fast when you get questions wrong.

There are two more exams, one normal, and one final exam. I am determined to ace these exams. Getting yet another C has amped me up to study until I can't study any more when exam time comes, and I am going to finish this semester off strong and hopefully be about to pull out a B average in the class!

After Chemistry, I went back to my dorm for about an hour, until I had to go to Hawaiian Studies. Today we just had a class discussion on the film we watched Tuesday, and then we were done for the day. She let us out about 30 minutes early. I was supposed to work from 4:30-6:00, and it was 3:45 when we got out of class. Instead of walking to my dorm to do nothing for 20 minutes before heading to work, I headed straight to work, and got there at 4:00. So I made up for being late this morning, and 20 minutes more! I just finished up my projects from earlier during those two hours.

Today was the annual Ka Leo Arts Festival, and it was going on from 3pm-8pm, so after I got off of work and was walking back to my dorm, I walked through all of the booths and looked over everything. It was really cool! There were about 70 booths with local artists, students, outer islanders, community members, etc. There were also some performances and live art going on. I enjoyed walking through, but didn't really stop at any of the booths.

I finally got home around 6:30, and I ate and worked on some online homework which literally took 2 hours because there were 35 sections that I had to do. Ew.

And that's it!
Thank you to whoever is reading these...if anyone is.
I'll talk to you tomorrow night!
See ya! <3

ʻŌhelo Papa ~ Strawberry

Today's post is going to be relatively short and to the point, because it was a rather uneventful day.

I woke up and got ready for my 8:30 Bio lecture, where we are still discussing genes.

Next was my Bio lab. Now today, we worked individually and did our own experiment, but we still sat at the normal tables. So my three partners excluded me from everything yet again, and never once offered to help me with anything. The three of the just worked together and got everything for one another, but none for me. All
I can say is I am glad we only have a few weeks left of this lab, so I won't have to worry about it again.

It was interesting today though, because we got to extract DNA from strawberries! I really enjoyed doing that, even though I was annoyed.

After my lab, I had my Oceanography lecture where we discussed El Niño and it's affects not only here in Hawaii, but also around the world.

I then worked for only an hour today, from 1:30-2:30 and I had to sort a whole box of papers into chronological order, and began putting labels onto the student files I put together earlier in the week. That hour passed very quickly, and then I went back to my room, changed and had a snack and then headed off to practice. We cleaned a bunch of things concerning drill and then just ran the homecoming show and skit a ton of times.

It was tiring. And we had to face the synthesis entire time, for some reason. We typically face away from the sun, but today we were facing it straight on. And the sun was already setting so it was in our direct eye path too, and I pretty much couldn't see a thing.

I was then done for the night. I came to my room, took a nap for about an hour and a half, got some dinner, and then began studying. I have a Chemistry midterm tomorrow morning, and these chapters are pretty confusing. I feel as prepared as possible though, so we'll see!

I'm getting to sleep a little early tonight because I have two and a half hours of work before my exam tomorrow, and need to be sure I'm awake and alert tomorrow.

I cannot wait to just sleep forever this weekend because I'm absolutely exhausted!

I hope you all are well, talk to you tomorrow!
Goodnight <3

Helu Waiwai ~ Inventory

Today was another long and tiring day.

I woke up at 7:00, go ready for the day and left to head off to my Chemistry Lab with Amber at 8:30.

The lab went pretty smoothly today, it took about an hour and a half, so we got done an hour and a half early. We had an hour before our Chemistry Lecture, so Amber and I went Campus Center and had some lunch.

The lecture was boring and awful as usual, we just went over the practice exam, and the professor barely even knew what he was talking about, and kept making errors, and then blaming us for not catching his mistakes.

After the lecture, I stopped at the little outgoing mail post thingy's, and mailed off the two postcards to my family :)

Next was my Hawaiian Studies class. We watched a film about the bomb testing on the Marshall Islands and how that correlated to the topic we are learning about currently. And there was a scientist in the film who looked exactly like a younger version of my dad, without the glasses. It was really weird! I enjoyed the film though.

From 4:30-6:00, I worked. There wasn't a lot for me to do since it was the end of the day, but I did get to take inventory of all of the CPR equipment, which was really awesome. It was cool to see all of the instruments and things that are used, but scary to think about if I ever had to use the stuff...

So like I said, I got off at 6:00, which is when the office closes, got back to my dorm at 6:20, and then I rested for about an hour and 45 minutes before getting up to do homework and study. From 8:00-11:00, I was working on my Biology Lab write up, which had to be a complete one with all of the part involved, unlike before where it was either just the intro or just the discussion. That took forever, and I am absolutely drained. It's time for sleep.

I'll talk to you again tomorrow, which is another packed day.

Goodniiiight! <3

ʻAʻahu ~ Costume

Wow, today was one jam-packed day!
I was gone from 8:00am until 10:00pm.

I woke up at 6:30, got ready and left for class at 8:00. We had a second lecture about genes in my Bio lecture.

I worked from 9:30-12:00. During this time, I entered student information into an online spreadsheet, I then had to take all of those papers out of the folders and shred them. Next, I made 112 copies of some advising forms and hole punch them with a 2-hole punch, and had to make 112 new student files using those papers along with the certain tabs that go into each folder.

Can we just take a minute to admire the beauty in these mountains?
This is what I get to look at each day, this is taken outside of the Nursing Building, on the 4th floor balcony. <3

Mind you, these are not normal files where the papers are just slipped in, they are the folders with the two really long metal prongs at the top. And, when you need to put something in a certain spot in the folder, you must take everything about it out, and yeah. It gets kind of tiring opening and closing a trillion metal prongs. But it went well overall :)

I then had Oceanography from 12:00-1:20, and then went back to work from 1:30-2:30. During this hour, I changed some information on these papers and also helped a few students coming in and out for advising.

At 2:30, I left work and headed back to my dorm. I got there, had a snack and got changed for band practice. It was super gloomy outside, with dark clouds surrounding us, however it didn't rain, but the sun was blocked, so we stayed cool. Today we went over marching and music, and then we learned the Time Warp dance from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, because that is one of the tunes that we are playing for the homecoming show this weekend.

Practice ended at 5:15, and afterwards, Marisa, Nathan, Raquel and I were talking about what we were going to dress up as for the homecoming show. This year's theme is Futuristic. So first they wanted to be Doctor Who characters, then they wanted to be characters from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but they ended up finally deciding on being characters from the animated show, Adventure Time....

Now I can't really complain, because it isn't like I had any better ideas, but this one seems a bit weird. Supposedly the show is set in a post-apocolyptic time period, so I guess it is technically "futuristic"...but yeah. So I am Princess Bubblegum, here she is...

So we decided to go shopping for out costumes now.

First we stopped off at the bank so Marisa could get money out, and then we headed off to the mall.

As we were driving, the sun was setting, and I took this pretty picture with the silhouettes of the palm trees, I love it.

We went to Hot Topic, where Nathan found his stuff, and then we went to the food court to get some food. They all made fun of me for getting a smoothie and sandwich from Jamba Juice when there is such a large variety at the food court. They aren't used to this though like everyone back home, and I also wanted to be healthy! So I'm glad I went for the healthy option :)

After little success at the mall, we went to Walmart, and Raquel, Marisa and I found our outfits there.

So Princess Bubblegum is a scientist, so I bought pink leggings, and pick shirt, a crown and washable pink hairspray and then I am just going to wear my lab coat that I use for Biology. :)

Nathan is being Finn, Marisa is the Lumpy Space Princess, and Raquel is Marceline, the vampire.

After we finally got our costumes, it was 9:30, and so Nathan dropped us back off at the dorms, and we went our separate ways!

I think the outfits will look good :)

So I got back to my dorm at 10:00, and since I had only been in my room once today for about 20 minutes, I hadn't done my homework yet, so I've just completed that, and not I'm ready to get some sleep because I am exhausted!

I hope you enjoyed, and I'll definitely put pictures of our outfits up here in Saturday night's post.
I'll talk to you all tomorrow
Goodnight! <3

Koʻu Kulanui Keʻena ~ My College Room!

Good news, I have quite a long/detailed post today with tons of pictures to show you all :)

So let's see, I woke up around 9:00 this morning, got up and showered, then got all ready.

My clothes were dry from the night before, so I hung those up and put them away. I then sat down at my desk and for some random reason, decided to write down an actual bucket list. I've always had these extravagant adventures that I want to do before I die, but have never written them down, so that's what I did. So far I have 24, and I will definitely add on to that!

I then got all of my stuff together because I was off to the Honolulu Zoo! :)

I went alone, as usual, but that didn't bother me. It's really is peaceful being alone, going at your own pace and not having to worry about others.

So as I was walking to the bus, I was about 100 yards away, and the bus leaves! That was upsetting, so I sat down and talked to my mom while I waited 20 minutes for the next one.

I finally got to the Zoo around 1:15 and I was very excited! :)

I was really impressed by the zoo, to be honest! My expectations were a little low after the aquarium let-down, but it ended up exceeding those expectations by a lot. First of all, the size of it was impressive, considering it is smack dab in between the ever-so-popular Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head.

There was such a variety of animals to look at, and luckily most of them were out and about, so I went at a good time! Some of my pictures did not turn out too good, due to fences and distance, but I did take a lot of great ones :) Here you go!

It might be hard to see, but that's a Tucan back there!

And this is a King Vulture. When I hear "vulture" I think of the ugly, black ones, but this one was colorful, and beautiful!

These are Ruffed Lemur's.

And these are Ring-Tailed Lemurs.

These little guys are called White-Handed Gibbons, and they were swinging up and down and all around their structures, it was adorable!

Male Orangutan

And the female, who was staring at one of the zookeepers outside of her exhibit...

...she looked sad :(

Snake!

Sadly, the hippos were walking away as soon as I got my camera out, and the pics of them in the water did not turn out well, due to the murkiness/muddiness of the water.

Pumba!

Ostrich with Giraffes in the back.

Another Ostrich, which I heard do not come out very often, so that was cool!

This was a little deer (I forgot it's name)

Sleepy Lions

An African Wild Dog who was just making laps around his area for about 15 minutes, I took some videos below. (Excuse the lady's voice in the first video... -_-)

There were also Fennec Foxes, which if you've never heard of, you HAVE to look them up. They are just about the cutest things ever, with very large ears :) I unfortunately cannot find the picture I took, anywhere. So I'll just insert one from google so you can see them...

Seriously, go look them up!

So those are some of the pictures I took, I am not going to post them all because I took about 200 just at the zoo, so this was just a nice selection of them :)

After I had walked through the whole thing, I stopped off at the gift shop, and bought 5 post cards (they were buy 4 get the 5th free, so why not?). I left the zoo around 3:45, so I spent a good two and a half hours there, and it was totally worth the price.

I now needed to go off to Walmart, but I didn't want to take my nice camera with me, and I had no room in my purse. So I decided to make a detour and stop back at my dorm to drop it off.

I also realized that my phone was at 2%, so I sat in my room and charged that up while I wrote out two of the postcards that I bought, one for my Mom, Dad, little brother Jack and kitty, and the other for my sister, Molly.

By this time, my phone had plenty of charge, so I headed off to Walmart.

My trip was not too successful in the sense of what was on my list, but was not an overall bad trip.

Now this Walmart's layout is completely different from the one back home that I am used to, so I couldn't find half of the things I was looking for, they were out of some of the things I wanted, and I left with things that weren't even on my list. I couldn't find the fruit, which was upsetting, but decided that I'd just wait until Tuesday when the fresh produce market is out on campus, and I'll just buy my things there. It is cheaper than Walmart, too! Also the nuts here are outrageously priced! A thing of cashews was $11, almonds were $12 and pecans were like $11, too. I could not spend that much, so no nuts for me. I also couldn't find any trail mix anywhere, and they were out of my favorite Special K, chocolate-pretzel bars.

I ended up coming out with veggie chips, 100 calorie chocolate-covered pretzels, peanut butter protein bars, crunchy dark chocolate and oat Nature Valley Bars, Chex Mix, goldfish, Ritz crackers, and string cheese.

OH! AND GUESS WHO WAS IN WALMART! DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER'S WIFE!! My grandma, sister and I used to watch Dog the Bounty Hunter all the time! So the fact that she was just there in Walmart made my mouth drop. I was shocked.

When I got back, I separated all of the foods into ziplock baggies, and organized it all into my drawer, which was literally empty before this, so I can grab and go as snacks throughout my day.

I then picked up a few little things that were around my room, made my bed, and organized a few other things so that I could finally take pictures of my room so those interested (probably just my family), can see it! So here it isssss!

As you step through the door, this is what you see. (My side is the on the left)

Here is my wardrobe which has bars to hang clothes and shelves in the top part with the doors, and two drawers below it.

There are all of my shoes, and shower slippers.

Here is a view of just my side. (Excuse the HIDEOUS fan...)

Here is my desk (my printer is behind the ugly fan).

My side of the fridge with my Waikiki Aquarium magnet, a magnet that my mom sent me and my class/work schedule that I made this morning.

My mat that I love :)

Okay, so I have a mirror on the right door of my wardrobe, but on this side I criss-crossed some ribbon that my mom sent me, hung up a sign that I painted from home, and made a little paper with my name on it.

These are little ABC letters that I bought last weekend at Walmart.

Here is my bulletin board which is full of pictures, little things that I make, little souvenirs from things I've done and places I've been...

...and letters written to me by some of my friends which I read if I'm getting sad and I love them <3
I opened one each day after my mom left, and I was on my own. They make me smile :)

Here you can see the shelf-thing above my bed. So I have shower stuff, books, perfume, purses, lip balm, lotion empty boxes and a scrapbook.

This is what I have added to my fan to try and make it not so ugly. I put my sunglasses on the top, along with this kitty plush that my mom sent me, and one of those little umbrellas that come in your drinks.

This is the door on from the inside. I have the lei that my mom gave me at my going away party hanging on the handle, and a halloween thing that I drew when I was bored.

This is on the outside of my door. Our floor is the ice-cream floor, (super un-cool) and this is mine!

And here is the full door from the outside.

This is a panorama of the whole room.

And that's it! I had a great day today, and despite the fact that there were gloomy, grey clouds looming over the area all day, I did not get rained on once! Yay!

So I hope you enjoyed, and it made up for my awfully boring day yesterday :)
Goodnight <3
